Bitter Sweet

That day......

It couldn't have been any more perfect; the sun was shining, the air was fresh and the streets were festively decorated and ready for Christmas. It was going to be a day at the zoo that ended with a night safari. Instead, the "perfect" day ended to be not so perfect, the night ended with losing Gerardo's life line.....his iphone. Noooo!

Singing for Singapore

We're back!

For this Thanksgiving, Gerardo and I spent the entire week in Singapore. We had a great time; from Chinatown, to Little India and Clark Quay we shopped until dropped. Although the rain got us the first day, the sun shined at a high of 86 the rest of the week which more than made up for it. Thank you!

Just as the names says, both Chinatown and Little India has the name it promises, both are centers for the large community in Singapore. Not only are these areas known for their delicious foods and place of worship but their shops and markets kept me entertained for hours. I dragged Gerardo into countless stores wanting every single piece of item within arm reach. Thankfully, reason kicked in and I purchased only what was truly necessary for souvenirs and my soon-to-be travel scrapbook page.

Our lives began on November 9th

Happy 28th Birthday babe!

For the past couple of weeks I've been planning for a perfect day. At the stroke of midnight I successfully made his birthday a pretty memorable one with balloons, king hat, cake and gifts as soon as he walked in through the door. He loved it! Jake also participated with her "Daddy card" and by wearing her pink dress that daddy had bought when he was in the states. Again, he loved it.

In celebration of his month, we've planned another trip. We're going to Malaysia and Singapore in two weeks! What can I say, I had to try to match what he had done for me on my brithday.

Gerardo's brother, Eddy, was so kind to also custom make some shoes for him for his birthday too. My God, the ones he made are beautiful. He can't wait to get them in and wear them. "Thank you Edward! You're the sweetest."

Hold on, man. We don't go anywhere with "scary," "spooky," "haunted," or "forbidden" in the title do we?!

Today we got to dress up at work in celebration of Halloween. I went as a Dallas Cowboy football player sporting the good ole #9. I also purchased carmel apples!
I got 2 "Everything but the...." (apple dipped in carmel, chocolate and white chocolate, almonds, marshmallows, oero cookie, and M&M's) 1 "Peanut Butter" (apple dipped in carmel and chocolate with Reese's pieces and peanut butter chips) and 1 "Dirty Apple" (apple dipped in carmel and oero cookie topped with a gummi worm) Yummmm....sooo good but soooo sweet.

Always kiss the baby

A new baby is like the beginning of all things-wonder, hope and a dream of possibilities.

"Ten fingers, ten toes.....She's laughter and teardrops because she's so perfectly small and brand new. You're beautiful Aaralyn."

I was so thrilled to to hear that Aaralyn was born on Thursday October 22, 2009. What can I say, she wanted to be fashionable late by 6 days weighing in at 7 lbs 13 oz.

MMmmm....Curry

Yum. Are you hungry for some Japanese style curry? You should be, this stuff is the best! There are so many different kinds of meat's and preparation of meats you can choose from; shredded, fried, crispy, etc. The amount of rice ranges from 200g to 500g... though I can't imagine eating 500g of rice!

Thank you CoCo's Ichibanya because without curry, white rice would be very dull.

I write so much less when I'm congested and weak.
Hum. Who Knew?

It's no surprise that I got sick yet again. Let's see it's been about every month since the beginning of the year. Go Dominique! [Kidding] I just don't get it, I eat fairly healthy and take vitamins. Plus, I load up on my vitamin C. It started mid-week and by Friday I was feeling it pretty hard. Lucky for me Sudafed PM worked wonders.

When sick, I also can count on some chicken rice vegatable soup. Oh yeah, and O.J. Both Gerardo and I were chugging the stuff day and night. Yum.

No day is so bad that it can't be fixed with a nap.

Sleep... Oh!

This last past week has been extremely uneventful. In fact, this holiday weekend the three of us [Gerardo, Jake and myself] slept 12-15 hours each night. We found ourselves only getting up to eat to then head back to bed with full bellies. Pure laziness yet blissfulness.

Plus, life is too short to sleep on low thread-count sheets.

It has been said that something as small as the flutter of a butterfly's wing can ultimately casuse a typhoon halfway around the world. Those dang butterfly's are surely flying; we're getting a typhoon!

Minnajima

It's always ourselves we find in the sea.

I absolutely love that fact that paradise is only a short ferry ride away. Today I got to sunbath and snorkle on Minnajima in the clear blue waters of the East China Sea. I was in heaven. To me, there are three great elemental sounds of nature; rain, slight wind and the sound of the outer ocean on a beach. I got two of the three. Again, heaven.

The day ended with eating some great sushi. It couldn't be more perfect. I'm totally rejuvenated.
